I started my college journey with Robert Morris College, that turned to Robert Morris University, which is now Roosevelt University. I was able to obtain a 4yr BA in Computer Sciences in around 2.5 yrs while being a Union Member for Local 73 based in Chicago. I was able to develop my skillset that included basic networking and Windows Server services. This also allowed me to get my first internship at Mt. Sinai where I was hired prior to graduation.
Early in my career I was exposed to many technologies including VMware, Hyper-V, and Citrix. VMware proficiency was key to my role within the organizations so I excelled and received multiple certifications including my current VCP. This has since broadened to Xen Services, Azure, and various KVM technologies.
Some of my other duties that I was tasked with was to make sure that all thinks Citrix were running to the best of it's abilities. During my tenure at Mt. Sinai, roughly there were around 1k remote session running. Luckily, I had great a great team, and I was given the opportunity to break a lot of systems, and figure out how to repair or make them better.
Even though I was involved in the majority of systems and projects, there were some that either were above my scope, or I had no interest in. Luckily, there were plenty of highly knowledgeable and approachable members where I was able to get the fundamentals. Being able to communicate with various departments and having that knowledge made working with them much easier and not pulling teeth.
I can keep adding to this section....but it'll be easier to just reach out. I'm an open book and have no problem conversing. So...do the thing. Email, phone, text, carrier pigeon, whatever.. and have a great day.
